Your contribution to TenneT
How do you keep the Netherlands moving? As an Asset Specialist, you will develop and manage technical specifications, support tenders, ensure product quality, work on innovations, and represent TenneT in technical committees, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable and sustainable energy. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing technical specifications – You create guidelines and concepts for HVDC components namely instrument transformers and surge arresters.
- Supporting tenders and contracts – You ensure that technical requirements are clear and evaluate bids and suppliers based on quality and suitability.
- Quality assurance and supplier management – You monitor the quality of products through testing, audits, and factory tests, and collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvements.
- Contributing to innovation and standardization – You represent TenneT in national and international technical committees and work on the latest developments in the field.
You will be part of the Asset Management team, consisting of 10 colleagues. Together, you will work on innovative projects, playing a vital role in ensuring a stable and sustainable energy supply. Our team has a positive work atmosphere, where innovation and collaboration are central.
Your profile and background
At TenneT, we are looking for professionals who contribute to the future of our electricity grid. We expect you to have the right experience and skills to make a valuable contribution to our team and our mission.
What do you bring?
- Analytical and strategic thinking: You can independently analyze and solve complex issues.
- Technical expertise in high voltage: You have in-depth knowledge of high-voltage measuring instruments, and surge arresters. Experience with HVDC is a plus, and knowledge of insulation coordination is an advantage.
- Team-oriented and decisive: You are a team player who takes responsibility, makes decisions quickly, and adapts to a dynamic work environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in [specific sector or function], preferably in the energy sector or a technical environment.
- In-depth knowledge of HVDC technology and its application in grid infrastructure or energy technology.
- A completed degree in energy or electrical engineering, applied physics, or a similar technical or scientific field, preferably supplemented with additional certifications or training.
- Living in the Netherlands but Dutch is not required for this position as the primary working language is English.
- Willingness to travel and possess a valid EU driving license (Class B).

We offer you:
- A permanent contract with a two-month probation period, based on 40 hours per week.
- A salary in scale 9, ranging from €4675 to €9196 per month, with 8% holiday pay, 6% year-end bonus, and a 70% pension contribution.
- A solid pension through ABP: we cover 70% of your premium.
- 43 vacation days per year.
All mentioned employment conditions apply to a full-time position unless stated otherwise.
