Your contribution to TenneT

How do you keep the Netherlands powered? As a Finance Project Controller, you are responsible for ensuring up-to-date reporting and being the gatekeeper for the project budget forecast, actuals, and risk budget. Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and challenging the team concerning forecasts and IPP, and aggregating the quality-assured budget/forecast.
  • Setting up timely and adequate management reports, such as decision, change requests, and exception reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework, accounting standards, and TenneT governance framework.
  • Acting as a back-up for the FPA.
  • Calculating budgets and creating approval documents for the Project Steering Group, such as risk release and change requests.
  • Serving as the SPOC for supplier issues and providing an interface to contract and claim management for the respective parts of the projects


In TenneT Large Offshore Projects Netherlands, we are working together to realize the energy transition by the realization of offshore wind connections in the Dutch North Sea. In this role, you will work within a team of approximately 50 professionals responsible for delivering three grid connection systems (Ijver Alpha, Nederwiek Alpha, and Gamma) and the first offshore hybrid asset - LionLink. 

Within TenneT, we work with the four eyes principle, which implies that the project organization is divided into a project organization (mainly technical) and project commercial/financial organization. You will work in the financial/commercial part of the project consisting of 4 people directly in the team reporting to the Financial Project Director. The team consists of a Financial Project Lead, Financial Project Controllers, and Financial Project Administrator, where close cooperation within the team and the other financial teams is essential.

Your profile and background

  • Relevant HBO/WO education (NL), vocational training in business administration with advanced qualification in controlling, or a university degree in finance/business administration or commercial graduate in business administration or relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in controlling/accounting, including knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience in projects - commercial and construction
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of (large) construction projects is an advantage.
  • Practical experience with Teams, and MS Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and SAP.
  • Data modeling – bridging technical IT skills to data is an advantage
